Faethe is a shawl design that I have had in the works for a long time. The design was tested quite a while ago, and the feedback was that the shawl shape wasn't quite a crescent, and I felt like the design could be better.
So, I have held it back for a while, thinking about the right way to make the pattern a success. When I began to work on it again, I decided to change things up, and make the pattern work for any weight of yarn. I also did a bit of research on crescent shaped shawls, and reworked the shawl body to make a better shape.
With all of these changes, I think it would be best to have the pattern re-tested. It has been edited professionally, and should be an easy to follow, well presented pattern.
Here are the specifics for the test:
Target Number of Testers: I am looking for about 10 total testers, at least one tester at each of 6 yarn weights.
Approximate Hours to Complete: 20-40 hours
Deadline: October 10, 2015
Is the deadline flexible?: Yes, I can extend the deadline to October 20, 2015.
Difficulty: Intermediate- Requires lace and cabling techniques, working from either charted or written instructions, picking up stitches, and simple short row shaping.
Pattern format(s): Pattern is a PDF file, which will be emailed when a tester is accepted.
Pattern Style: Pattern is fully written and fully charted. I have provided access to several pattern pages and a look at a chart, key, and written stitch pattern here.
Inexperienced testers accepted? Yes
Inexperienced crafters accepted? No. This project is really for intermediate knitters. You should have experience with cables or lace prior to signing up for this test.
Digital photo of FO required? Yes
Testing needs: I am looking for testers to complete and add Ravelry projects. There is no need to match gauge prior to beginning your project. I need testers who can track the amount of yarn they have used in both the edging and the shawl body.
Designer’s Notes: This test will take place in my Ravelry group. This helps everyone keep up with all information. I will also answer questions and concerns via email throughout the test. Every effort will be made to answer all questions, whether they come in via Ravelry or email, within 24 hours, often much faster than that. Testers will be compensated with a finished copy of the pattern for their Ravelry library, as well as $20 in credit from my pattern store.
If you are interested, please go over to the test thread on Ravelry and let me know, send me a PM, or an email at email@example.com, and I will answer questions and get the pattern to you.
