I've been working over the past few weeks to get this pattern ready for testing, and after a thorough visit with the technical editor, it is ready for some excellent knitters to take a try.
Wawona is designed to fit a curvy woman. With a deep V-neck, modified drop shoulders and cables that accentuate your figure this is a great pullover for those of us with an hourglass shape. The pattern calls for negative ease at the bust which means that waist shaping is not necessary to get a great fit. The pattern is sized for chest sizes 29-57 inches (74-145cm) and called for 2-4 inches (5-10cm) negative ease at the bust.
The yarn for Wawona is Anzula Luxury Fibers Cricket (shown above in Seafoam and Navy). The yarn is Superwash Merino, Nylon and Cashmere blend that is springy and works exceptionally well for cables. For the test, substitutes are fine, but if you want to check out Anzula, there is a list of their stockists here: http://anzula.com/shoplist/.
I have made a few pages of the pattern available prior to signing up for the test to give you a preview of the pattern, specific sizing information, and special techniques. You can take a look here: http://www.stackedwoolens.com/wawona-extras
Here are the specifics for the test:
Target Number of Testers: I am looking for 2 testers in each size, so 16 total testers. I would like some testers to knit the pattern exactly as written, but will accept those who would like to make modifications with approval.
Approximate Hours to Complete: 40-60 hours
Deadline: August 30, 2015
Is the deadline flexible?: Yes, I would like to release in September 2015, but I can extend up to 2 weeks if necessary.
Difficulty: Experienced; requires managing multiple cable patterns at the same time, optional chart reading, picking up stitches, working in the round and flat, and an optional tubular cast-on.
Pattern format(s): Pattern is a PDF file, which will be emailed when a tester is accepted.
Pattern Style: Pattern is fully written and fully charted. I have provided access to several pattern pages and a look at a chart, key, and written stitch pattern here.
Inexperienced testers accepted? Yes
Inexperienced crafters accepted? No. This project is really for experienced knitters. You should have experience with cables or making adult sweaters prior to signing up for this test.
Digital photo of FO required? Yes
Testing needs: I am looking for testers to complete and add Ravelry projects. Testers will need to match at least stitch gauge prior to casting on for the project. Testers should contact me with any questions prior to continuing on in the pattern, even if it seems like the answer is obvious. This helps me understand where the pattern isn't clear, and can save you having to rip back to get the correct result.
Designer’s Notes: This test will take place in my Ravelry group. This helps everyone keep up with all information. I will also answer questions and concerns via email throughout the test. Every effort will be made to answer all questions, whether they come in via Ravelry or email, within 24 hours, often much faster than that. There is a week during this test where I will be on vacation. I will be available to test knitters during this time, but response time may be a tiny bit slower than normal. This will be announced in the test thread so that testers can take time to read ahead in the pattern and get clarifications if needed.
If you are interested, please go over to the test thread on Ravelry and let me know, send me a PM, or an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will answer questions and get the pattern to you.
